The Community Muralist Training Intensive is ideal for community-based artists looking to go public with paint, or for muralists and other public artists looking to learn how to work with community while sharpening their mural production methods. The 3-day training includes a local mural tour, a hands-on "parachute-cloth" installation, and discussions led by Philadelphia-based expert muralists, among other experiences.
Participants will:
- explore tools to effectively plan and manage their projects
- develop different approaches to working with and for community
- sharpen their understanding of mural design and production techniques
Sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. each day and end between 4 and 6 p.m. Participants will receive a detailed schedule following registration.
Breakfast and lunch are included in the cost; travel and lodging are the responsibility of each participant. A sliding scale is available for registration cost.
